Not for me. The colleague who ’s car I cleaned yesterday said she is interested in a white car next time.
Her previous cars were,
Blue Renault Megane i-Music, Megane III, 1.5 diesel.
Followed by a s ilver Vauxhall Astra, Sixth Gen, 2.0CDTi.
Then a white Ford Focus Mk3 .
Then Black Honda Civic, Ninth Gen, 1.6 diesel.
and currently, a Volvo V40 1.6 diesel.
So, white (preferably pearlescent) , 5 door hatchback, petrol or diesel, manual, no bigger than a 2.0 diesel or 1.6 petrol, 2018 or sooner.
Contenders most likely, Citroen Peugeot, Ford, Vauxhall, Honda, Volvo, Nissan, VW, Toyota and Seat also possibly Audi or BMW.
Peugeot 308, 1.5 diesel.
Ford Focus Active Mk4 1.0T
Vauxhall Astra, Seventh Gen, 1.4.
Mercedes Benz A Class.
Seat Leon.
Skoda Scala.

Ye’, she loved the colour of the Renault, though I probably loved it more.
She just wants a white one next time.
Though if another colour popped up on a car she liked for a good price, she’ll go for it.
When she shopped for the Honda, she was looking for a red Civic, but the price of the black one with good mileage at a great price, she took it.

The only one of those cars we get on this side of the pond is the A Class but we only get the sedan. I wouldn’t look too seriously into them as I have not exactly heard glowing reviews as the three pointed star on the front seems to be its only reason for existing.
I like the Skoda Scala. Pretty nifty looking. The Peugeot 308 also caught my eye.

The Astra seems bland while I like the Scala, it looks a lot like the Focus which she may more likely go for.
The hatchbacks these days are pretty close in design and shape such as the Ford Focus, Skoda Scala, Mercedes A Class, Mazda 3, etc...
She did bring up she liked her friends new Nissan Qashqai, though she did call it a Renault Qashqai at first.

Mazda 3? They come in a couple of shades of white.

Astra is bland, and does have some electrical gremlins

I’d get the 308. Maybe look at a Mazda 3 if she likes to drive .

She’s had an Astra already so that may sway her away in itself.

My work colleague had a brand new previous gen Corsa then after a year he swapping it for a brand new (then ) Astra but he was disappointed by it compared to the Corsa and ended up swapping it for the new e- Corsa.
I would definitely go for the 308 GT-Line which is really beautiful (IMO).

Mazdas aren’t all that common here and I recall a conversation some time ago that she doesn’t like the look of them. If I recall she didn’t elaborate but she didn’t like the Skoda (before the new models), Mazda or Nissan. But she did mention she liked her friends new Nissan Qashqai, so she may be op en to more brands.

I quite like the new Corsa, she’s a bit bigger than the old Corsa.
The old Corsa I hated for it’s tightness in the cabin.
But going from the Superb to a Corsa courtesy car, it was bound to be quite different.
I like the 308 but it needs the GT look to stand out.

She’s not so much into driving as something affordable, practical and likes the look of.
I usually have a little sway in it as I’ve cleaned her cars for the last ten years or so and tends to ask me about them.

The new Corsa is only 4cm longer than the older and almost the same width but it has more space inside from what i recall .

I dunno why every Mégane since the II has aged incredibly well. Can’t believe that blue one is the oldest car of this whole bunch!
Out of all of those I’d say the A-class is the only one that stands out as a remotely different experience. Based on the color choice, that may not be a good thing...
That Leon is either older or on its way out, the Focus with that cladding is a hard pass, and you can just tell the Corsa is more GM than PSA, so at this point I would also pass. That leaves the Pug and the Skoda

Yet it seems so much larger externally. Nice.

The Leon is or has been replaced this year.
I think the Mercedes would be the outsider along with the Audi.
